Week 39 - Kwon Kwon Kwon Kwon Kwon

Friends and family,

This week was pretty good.

Monday we went to Aparri to have fun. Then we had fun, but we lost our cellphone. Yikes! (We got one later, though)

Tuesday, we went and ate at the Kangaroo Beach Resort. We have some potential investigators who live near there, so when they said to come back later we went and ate lunch there first. Then we went back and taught some lessons to a guy named Jonald. He is reasonably religious, and he is interested in the Plan of Salvation.

Wednesday was a school holiday in the Philippines, so the branch had an activity at the “Strawberry Farm.” (It’s not just a strawberry farm, it’s got a swimming pool and some small huts to hang out in.)

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were all a blur as we worked extra to make up for slacking earlier in the week. We’re still working on teaching everyone we can.

We had a cool experience Saturday night when late at night we chose to contact a less active sister. We met her parents instead, who had been taught by the missionaries more than 19 years ago. They were surprised at our patience, that even though they had been dropped a long time, missionaries would continue to try and visit them.

On Sunday, young adults from the branch worked with us again. It was a good experience, even though my group only got to teach one person, and we walked for four hours. : (

All in all this week was good. I ask for your prayers for brother Reolalas and for his wife sister Reolalas. I also ask for your prayers for the membership in Baua branch.

Thanks for your support,

Elder Tripp
