Hello friends and family! I’ve returned to regale you with stories from sojourn in the Philippines.

with Elder Minosa

This past Wednesday, we were having a good day, until I got bit by a dog. It wasn’t that bad.

The weirdest thing about my new area is how close we are to the ocean. It’s very strange to see all that water.
My companion is trying to teach me how to play basketball. We’ll see if it goes well.
We went two birthdays this week. We also went to three funeral services. For the same guy. The same dead guy. He wasn’t the one having the birthdays. Did you know that in some cases it’s rude to wear red to funerals? Neither did I.

Because I got bit by a dog, I went to Aparri. Being in sasakyan (transportation) is very tiring. We also ate a some restaurant in Camalaniugan. The place we got the shots was also a massage spa, but that’s bawal (forbidden) for missionaries, so sayang talaga (that’s really too bad).
The other weird thing about Baua is the stuff they put in haluhalo (mixed ice dessert) is different. Like, macaroni noodles and weird potato stuff. It still tastes great though.
I hope that all made sense.
Love,
Elder Tripp
Additional info from mom: Due to the dog bite, Zephram had to go to Aparri multiple times for rabies shots. They did not suspect that the dog had rabies, but had him get the shots just in case. He said they didn’t hurt, but the travel to and from Aparri (1.5 to 2 hours each way?) was tiring.
