Family and friends,
This week Elder Sabas and I worked our very hardest to meet as many people as we could. We were able to meet more than one hundred people, and many of them showed interest in the gospel.
One spiritual experience we had this week was one in which we made a mistake. My companion and I visited an investigator with a plan in mind, but when the lesson began, my companion experienced a “stupor of thought,” and he could not understand what it was we were about to share. I carried on with the lesson, and he did too, but after the lesson was over, we recognized that the lesson had not had the spiritual power our other lessons had. My companion explained to me what had happened, and I realized that I need to focus on the Spirit more, so that when things like this happen, we’ll be prepared to teach by the Spirit and not by our own minds.
This coming Saturday, Sister Hortencia Daguro will enter the waters of baptism and at last become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
This coming Tuesday, I’m getting transferred to Bangui in the northern end of Ilocos Norte.
Lots of love and an early Merry Christmas to you all,
Elder Tripp
