Week 17

Friends and family,

We’ve reached another P-Day and another chance to communicate together about our various life situations. I’m glad to here that many of you are doing well, whether snow or shine, busy or slow. For those of you that suffered illness or misfortune, I continue to pray for your health and welfare.

For the new year, many of you know about the new Come, Follow Me curriculum and it’s focus on personal and family scripture study. I hope all of you take this opportunity to really take this opportunity to grow your testimony and “work out your own salvation.” The personal scripture study requires really effort and desire, both to learn and then to act on what you learn. As families as well, we need to use this opportunity to strengthen bonds and improve our love for each other and our Father in Heaven. You can find out more about this past week’s topic at: lds.org

This week I took a couple of pictures out at the bukid of Brother Connell, a less active here in Magsingal. With us in the pic is Cedric, his second son. As I’ve said before, it’s mais season, so the corn is getting taller every week. Brother Connell is growing a special breed of imported corn, so we’ve agreed to help him with some of the more labor intensive parts of the process later this month. Elder Maroket and Cedric

This coming week is more exchanges and zone conference, so I look forward to those. It will be fun to be with other missionaries again.

My only request from all of you is pictures of your faces, so I can remember what you look like. Sometimes it’s been a while, and I can’t exactly picture what you look like. Sorry if that sounds a bit weird.

Thanks again for everything,

Elder Tripp

Answers to Mom’s questions:

My only advice for the new program is that whenever you do the study for church, try to write down one way you can apply what you learned and then do it! It will help you strengthen your testimony and improve your understanding.

At our apartment we have regular showers, but on exchanges and when our water was broken I had to take bucket showers. They’re not bad, but definitely make it undesirable to both shampoo and condition. It would definitely be more rough if I had long hair.

For haircuts, we usually go to a barbershop in Vigan, because Elder Maroket doesn’t like going to the bakla salons.
