Week 8

Hello friends and family,

This email will be shorter than the others because I have squandered my time for writing emails with other emails, but I still want to give you all an update. So, in the fashion of another elder, I will make a list.

  1. Final send-off from Manila MTC was wonderful. Balut was interesting.
  2. Long bus ride to Laoag through the middle of the night was tiring.
  3. Mission home was awesome. Best food and sleeping ever! The mission president and his wife are awesome.
  4. My new companion is Elder Maroket. He’s a 21 year old Filipino from Quezon City, who is only a few months from the end of his mission. He’s an awesome guy and has been really helpful.
  5. My first area is the province of Magsingal. My companion and I are opening the area, so no missionaries have been there except sporadically in a long time. It also means we are starting off with no house and no prior people to teach, but everything is fine on that front.
  6. The food is awesome in the Philippines.
  7. My first P-Day has been an awesome activity at the beach. We got to meet all the people in our zone and strengthen zone unity.

That’s all for this week. No pictures yet, because I forgot my adapter, but definitely more next week.

Much love and many prayers,

Elder Tripp
