The first part was written in light green ink, so it didn’t scan well. Here it is:

Dearest Family, It is with sincerest regret that I write to you for what may be the last time. As I sit on my final preparation day at the Provo MTC, I look back on my weeks here. My initial arrival, which was clear and crisp. My initial personality and self, now far gone from who I am and yet farther from who I seek to become. The weeks were filled with joy upon joy, fear up on fear, reconciliation upon reconciliation, sweetness upon sweetness. If I had known the joy I would have here, I would never have doubted myself prior to coming. Now I have no doubt. The Lord has called me on a mission, and I will be his servant, both here in the MTC and sa Philippines. I eagerly anticipate departure, and feel the love our Father has for his…
