Not much has happened since I made it to the MTC. In the past two days, it’s been a whirl of activity, but much of it feels very condensed in my memory now.
When I last emailed you, I had not even met my companion yet! I was the first in my district to arrive, but companion was the second to arrive, so I was not alone for long. My companion’s name is Elder Almeida, and he’s from Colorado. Additionally last night, my companion was assigned as district leader. I hope I can support in him in his new assignment.
My district consists of 10 elders and 4 sisters. All of us are going to the Philippines, 4 to the Manila mission, and the rest to Laoag.
P-Day, if the sending of this email isn’t obvious, is on Friday for me. We went to the temple and went through an endowment session this morning. One of the elders in our zone had a bunch of family names so my companion and I did two of his.
It’s pretty crazy being at the MTC and being surrounded by so many missionaries. It’s also sort of crazy how many people I recognize from college. I’ve seen like 6 people who were in my ward in college, and I’ve been able to talk to a few of them.
Mostly things are going pretty fine otherwise. I don’t have any immediate needs right now, but I’ll let you know if anything changes. Hopefully all is well at home.
